Tại sao tính năng Windows XP Mode của Windows 7 có khả năng thay đổi cách Microsoft thiết kế tất cả các hệ điều hành Windows trong tương lai.

Có lẽ rất nhiều người đã hiểu chưa đúng về chế độ Windows XP của Windows 7, cho rằng đó chỉ là một cơ chế có khả năng tương thích ngược. Tuy nhiên ngoài khả năng đó, tính năng này còn có khả năng thay đổi cách Microsoft thiết kế tất cả các hệ điều hành Windows trong tương lai.

Chế độ Windows XP Mode cho Windows 7 đã được giới thiệu rất nhiều tuy nhiên ngoài việc cung cấp giải pháp tương thích ngược thì nó còn có nhiều tính năng khác. Công nghệ này có liên quan nhiều đến các thay đổi trong các phiên bản tương lai của Windows. Trong bài viết này, chúng tôi sẽ giới thiệu cho các bạn lý do của vấn đề đó.

Khi mới tuyên bố rằng Windows 7 sẽ có chế độ Windows XP với mục đích tương thích ngược, đã có rất nhiều ý kiến bàn tán xung quanh rằng Windows 7 sẽ đưa vào một copy có đăng ký hoàn chỉnh Windows XP chạy bên trong một máy ảo.

Tuy nhiên sự thực không phải vậy. Người dùng có thể sử dụng Virtual PC 2007 để chạy Windows XP bên trong một máy ảo với hệ điều hành Vista. Dù Microsoft đã thêm vào một đăng ký của Windows XP nhưng với hầu hết mọi người, phần nào tính năng này sẽ yêu cầu họ phải có các đăng ký Windows XP. Chính vì vậy có người đã cho rằng tính năng Windows XP Mode là một mánh lới quảng cáo trên thị trường được thiết kế để thuyết phục công chúng rằng Windows 7 sẽ không phải đi vào vết xe đổ trong các vấn đề tương thích như hệ điều hành Vista. ::Full content::

Hai hôm nay trời Sài Gòn nắng đẹp quá, trời trong veo, nắng trắng và dịu, không gay gắt như nắng mùa khô. Hai ngày hôm nay, mình có mấy người bạn chụp ảnh cưới outdoor, thật là may mắn. Tiết trời này đảm bảo ảnh sẽ “ngon lành cành đào”, nói theo ngôn ngữ nói của giới trẻ hiện tại. Càng ngày, có vẻ dân ta lại có xu hướng quay về với ca dao và tục ngữ thì phải. Nhưng nếu đây mà gọi là ca dao, thì ca dao hồi xưa hay hơn nhiều.

Buổi sáng, mình ngồi The Coffee Bean dưới chân Metropolitan Tower, làm một ly Latte đá và ngắm người qua lại. Góc view ở đây khá đẹp vì đối diện nhà thờ Đức Bà Sài gòn, rất đông khách du lịch và người dân thành phố đi chơi buổi sáng. Tuy nhiên, trong cái nhẹ nhàng, thư thái đó, luôn có sự tấp nập, vội vàng, gấp gáp đan xen. Mình ngồi dặt dẹo buổi sáng, hết ly Latte thì cũng làm được mấy shot, ghi lại những hoạt động ở đúng chỉ một góc view của mình. Relax !

During the 1980’s, I was the Canon USA Service Manager in charge of setting up and running their Refurbishing Center in New York. For 5 years, I worked with other Service Departments to establish procedures and standards related to refurbished equipment. Though we dealt with more than photographic equipment, it will be the focus of this piece.

Where does the equipment come from?

The majority to be refurbished equipment are retail returns. These returns are usually because the buyer or gift recipient can’t get equipment to work for them! (Seriously) The other source of gear is from retired in-store demo units. In both cases, the equipment is usually in perfect running order, possibly with slight cosmetic issues. No matter how good their condition though, they are no longer “New”, and can’t be sold as such. ::Full content::

If you’re a Photoshop and Lightroom user you may, like me, love the Clarity adjustment in Lightroom and wish it were available in Photoshop too. The Clarity slider lets you adjust the contrast in the midtones of an image which gives an over all sharpening and color boost to the image midtones.

As yet, there is no Clarity tool in Photoshop (although there is one in Camera RAW). There is, however, a technique which has been popularized by Mac Holbert which does a similar thing. While the Photoshop technique is more cumbersome than using the Clarity slider in Lightroom it does work very well and gives very similar results.

Once you’ve performed the fix a couple of times you may want to create this as an Action so that you can run it on your images at any time you need to do boost the midtones. ::Full content::

Windows Vista đã không có sự khởi đầu thuận lợi khi bộc lộ qua nhiều lỗi từ khi mới đưa vào vận hành. Trong đó có 3 lỗi gây nhiều phiên toái nhất, và người dùng hay gặp phải nhất khi sử dụng hệ điều hành này đó là thiếu driver, nhiều chương trình không tương thích và không có phần mềm bảo mật.

Không tích hợp đầy đủ Driver

Trong năm đầu tiên được tung ra, Windows Vista không tích hợp một số driver của các thiết bị phần cứng như card đồ họa, card âm thanh, máy scan và máy in. Điều này đã trở thành thật vấn đề không dễ gì khắc phục. Lúc đó bạn có thể hi vọng rằng Microsoft sẽ đưa ra một driver tương thích ngay khi có thể, hoặc bạn đang dùng máy scan hay máy in cũ để có thể thay mới cho tương thích với driver của Windows Vista.

Hiện nay hầu hết các thiết bị phần cứng đã có phiên bản driver tương thích cho Windows Vista. Nếu bạn hiện không dùng những thiết bị quá cũ thì sẽ không gặp phải vấn đề này. Tuy nhiên, để chắc chắn hơn bạn có thể tìm trên Compatibility Center của Windows Vista để kiểm tra xem thiết bị của bạn có tương thích hay không. Dù đã có tất cả driver tương thích với Windows Vista bạn cũng nên cập nhật thường xuyên bằng cách truy cập vào website của nhà sản xuất hàng tháng hoặc sử dụng phần mềm cập nhật tự động như Pareto Logical Driver Cure và Driver Scanner 2009.

Hình như các nhà sản xuất thiết bị phần cứng đã rút kinh nghiệm từ trường hợp của Windows Vista. Giờ đây chúng ta đã có WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) tích hợp sẵn trong Windows 7 chứng thực driver cho card đồ họa nVidia và ATI. Thậm chí là card âm thanh Creative, được biết đến vì có quá nhiều lỗi trong Windows Vista, đã được cải tiến trong Windows 7 như một Driver Availability Chart giúp hiển thị thời gian biểu mỗi khi driver của card âm thanh được cập nhật. Lúc đó sẽ có nhiều phiên bản driver thử nghiệm cho card âm thanh của Creative, một dấu hiệu rất đáng mừng. ::Full content::

Unified search is a cool new FireFox addon that lets you easily combine and compare side-by-side search results from a number of search engines.

The tool works as follows:

• Search base service – i.e. Google
• See Bing search engines appear on the same page;
• Notice buttons in the right top corner;
• Click on any button to get the search results from the selected service load instead of Bing;
• Click an arrow sign to get the search results from the selected service load in the new tab.
